Kirkus Reviews

Alongside Publishers Weekly, Library Journal and Booklist, Kirkus is an influential publisher of pre-publication book reviews and is known for its “no holds barred” reviewing policy – notably, the reviews are unsigned. Though it reviews all types of trade books, its children’s and young adult departments have shown particular interest in international and translated literature. Young Readers’ Editor Laura Simeon was a member of the inaugural 2019 Global Literature in Libraries Initiative (GLLI) Translated YA Book Prize committee. [dj]
