Antony Shugaar – Italian and French

Antony Shugaar is a writer and a translator from Italian and French. Though the bulk of his work has focused on translations of adult novels, he has also translated five picture books by Gianni Rodari, widely regarded as the father of modern Italian children's literature. Shugaar’s translation of Rodari's Telephone Tales won the 2020 Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ English Translation Prize and the 2021 Batchelder Award. [dj]
