Lawrence Schimel is a full-time author writing in both Spanish and English, who has published over 120 books in a wide range of genres. He is also a prolific literary translator. His picture books have been selected for the White Ravens List by the International Youth Library in Munich, Germany, and have been twice chosen for IBBY’s Outstanding Books for Young People with Disabilities list. His two board books featuring same-sex families, Bedtime, Not Playtime! and Early One Morning, have been published in 53 editions in 41 languages. Born in New York City in 1971, Schimel has lived in Madrid since 1999. [dj]
