Ros Schwartz has translated a number of children’s books from French. Titles include The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, shortlisted for the 2013 Marsh Award for translated children’s literature; and Jefferson and The Upside Down River by Jean-Claude Mourlevat, winner of the 2021 Astrid Lindgren Prize and of the Prix Albertine Jeunesse readers’ choice prize for Jefferson. She translated six Lou! graphic novels by Julien Neel, the Book of the Stars trilogy by Erik l’Homme and more recently, Fadya and the Song of the River by Laura Nsafou and Amélie-Anne Calmo. In 2009, Schwartz was made Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres for her translation work. [dj]
